About Game Development Design School

Game Development Design School is a secondary choice school for students in grades 6 through 12. Student enrollments in grades 6 through 8 are determined by an application and lottery system. Students wanting to enter or remain at GDDS for high school must apply and interview to be considered for acceptance. 

Our teachers, staff, and campus leadership are dedicated to providing a uniquely customized learning experience for the next generation of video game creators and tech giants. We serve students who possess the highest level of passion for game development, game design, computer science, and programming. 

Student success is our top priority. At GDDS, we are dedicated to delivering the highest quality of education that engages students in rigorous expectations of daily learning. Our collective focus promotes a stimulating culture where excellence occurs daily. 

GDDS uses the Modern Classrooms Project approach to teaching and learning in which teachers deliver blended learning in a self-paced manner by unit that includes enrichment opportunities for each student. As GDDS students work in a self-paced manner, our teachers facilitate this process through careful planning, implementation, and monitoring of the blended learning model. 2025-2026 Lottery Application Windows

High school applications (9th grade only) - dates will be posted late in the fall semester.

Applications can be accessed at burlesonisd.schoolmint.net. After the conclusion of the application window, families will be contacted to set up an appointment for a student interview.

Middle school applications (6th - 8th grade) - dates will be posted late in the fall semester.
