A. Nick Kerr Middle School opened in the 2000-01 school year. Our namesake, A.A. Nick Kerr, was dedicated to the students of Burleson ISD for 34 years as a teacher, coach and principal.
In August 2019, we opened the newly constructed Kerr Middle School at 1320 E. Hidden Creek Parkway in Burleson. Our colors are black, white, and blue. Our mascot is the Cougar.
Kerr Middle School serves nearly 1200 students in grades 6, 7 and 8. We are a Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase school, which means developing strong relationships are at the core of our beliefs. The motto of Kerr Middle School is “You Belong Here” and we strive to make Kerr a place where every student feels at home.
Kerr Middle School offers a wide variety of academic and extracurricular activities such as advanced coursework, band, choir, drama, cheerleading, dance, UIL athletics, and a plethora of elective classes.
We are building a eSports team and have added a 3D printer to our FabLab for students to develop their skills in computer science.
Kerr Middle School provides a safe, nurturing environment for every student to thrive.
