Norwood Elementary is a 45 year old neighborhood campus in the Burleson ISD that serves about 400 students in PreKindergarten through fifth grade.  We believe in valuing family and recognize the importance of partnering with parents and guardians to provide a quality education for our students.  Our staff is committed to utililzing researched proven instructional practices while meeting the needs of all students, providing differentiation through intervention and extensions.  We value learning and believe that "Today is a good day to learn something new" while maintaining our mission of "Norwood exists to strive for excellence!"

Our campus is named after J.W. Norwood who was a boy's basketball coach in BISD from 1920-1949 and also served as our school superintendent until his retirement in 1956.  When he retired, the Burleson Boys had been district champions 32 out of 37 years.  Twenty-nine of those years, Norwood was the head coach.  We are proud to honor such an influential educator.
