BISD Names Kelly Utterback Principal of Academy at Nola Dunn
June 22, 2020 – The Burleson Independent School District (BISD) introduced Kelly Utterback as Academy at Nola Dunn Principal at the June 22 board meeting.
Utterback has 15 years of education experience, six of which have been as an elementary school administrator. Most recently serving as the Assistant Principal of Academy at Nola Dunn, Utterback is a former elementary school teacher and testing coordinator. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Development Family Studies and a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Texas Tech University, and a Principal Certification from the University of Texas at Arlington.
“Mr. Utterback has been an impressive leader as assistant principal and has established meaningful relationships with Academy at Nola Dunn families and staff,” said BISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Jimerson. “We are tremendously confident that Mr. Utterback will continue to be successful in his new role as Principal of Academy at Nola Dunn.”
While an assistant principal at Academy at Nola Dunn, Utterback also created and organized student clubs and implemented a positive behavior intervention and supports program.
“To be named the Principal at the Academy at Nola Dunn is a dream come true,” said Utterback. “I am incredibly blessed to be a part of the Olympian family. This is a day that I will truly never forget.”
Mr. Utterback will immediately begin his role as principal to start planning for the 2020-2021 school year.
