May 8, 2023 – Burleson Independent School District (BISD) announces Lindsey Muse as principal at the Academy of Leadership and Technology at Mound Elementary.
Muse has 16 years of experience in education, including 12 years at Mound Elementary, where she most recently served as Assistant Principal. Muse played a key role in implementing the Leader in Me framework, helping to develop Mound into a school of choice with a focus on leadership and technology. While Muse served as Assistant Principal, Mound earned the prestigious Leader in Me Lighthouse designation by Franklin Covey as a result of implementing the program with fidelity. Prior to becoming Assistant Principal, Muse taught 2nd and 3rd grades at Mound Elementary for nine years and was the campus ESL Coordinator. Muse holds a Bachelor of Science from Tarleton State University and a Master of Educational Administration from Lamar University.
“Mrs. Muse has a tremendous passion for Mound Elementary, and she knows the campus backwards and forwards,” said BISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Jimerson. “She was our unanimous pick. She has fire and is ready for this new role.”
“I am extremely grateful to the Board of Trustees and Dr. Jimerson for this opportunity to serve as the Principal of The Academy of Leadership and Technology at Mound Elementary,” said Muse. “Mound Elementary is near and dear to my heart and has been my home for the last 12 years. I am excited to lead the students, staff, and Mound community as we continue to accomplish great things.”
