BISD Names Ryan Kiene as the Burleson High School Head Boys Soccer Coach
June 8, 2020 – The Burleson Independent School District (BISD) announced Ryan Kiene as the Burleson High School Head Boys Soccer Coach at the June 8 board meeting. With 12 years of education and coaching experience, Kiene brings district and area success to his new role as the Burleson High School (BHS) Head Boys Soccer Coach.
In his five seasons as the BHS boys soccer assistant coach, Kiene contributed to the team securing its first district title since 1998. Kiene received the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches Organization 2019 Region 1 Assistant Coach of the Year award following the 2019 team’s district championship and regional semifinal appearance. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science from Texas State University.
“Mr. Kiene is an accomplished coach and contributor to our Burleson High School coaching staff,” said BISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Jimerson. “We believe his leadership will continue to take the Burleson High School boys soccer program to new heights.”
Before coming to BISD in 2013 to coach soccer and football, Kiene directed athletic programs as a coach and athletics coordinator in the White Settlement school district. His experience and familiarity with the players and program as the BHS assistant coach helped to solidify Coach Kiene as the best choice to lead the Elks soccer program.
“We are excited to promote Coach Kiene to the head boys soccer position at BHS,” said Ozee. “We had strong interest in the job from very experienced coaches. It’s always great when we can promote from within as it affirms the great talent we have on our team .”
A BHS graduate and Burleson resident, Coach Kiene impressed the hiring committee with his plan and passion for all things Burleson to become the top candidate.
“I appreciate the opportunity to lead the BHS Elks soccer program,” said Kiene. “I look forward to getting our Elks and future Elks together to build relationships and the program while getting our players involved in the community.”
Kiene will begin his role as the BHS Head Boys Soccer Coach when athletes return for summer strength and conditioning camps.
