BISD Celebrates National Principals Month

October is National Principals Month, and we’re celebrating our principals all month by sharing some fun facts about each campus leader.

Rexanne Wieland, Burleson Collegiate High School
How many years have you served in education? 32 years, all with BISD
Where are you originally from? Cleburne
Favorite sports team? The Texas Rangers, Cleburne Railroaders, and Midland Rockhounds-I love baseball!
What would be impossible for you to give up? Trips to Disney World. I love Mickey Mouse!
What are your favorite smart-phone apps? Timehop, Facebook, Pinterest
If you could travel in time, where would you go? I wouldn’t want to travel in time, but I LOVE to travel—Hawaii, Italy, Turks and Caicos, Mexico, Dominican Republic—I love the beach!
What was your original college major? Elementary Education
Name one thing that most people don’t know about you. I love to walk half marathon races!
What do you love most about working in public education? I love my students! In 32 years, as a teacher and administrator, I have worked with hundreds of students. It has been amazing to be part of their educational journey!

If you could travel in time, where would you go? Not sure. I really enjoy living in the present!
What was your original college major? Computer Science

How many years have you served in education? This is my 18th year in education.
Where are you originally from? Waco

What are your favorite smart-phone apps? Don’t really have a favorite, just the ones I use.
What is your spirit animal and why? White Tiger-it is a powerful animal, and unique within its group.
If you could travel in time, where would you go? Civil War to meet and talk with Abraham Lincoln. He was such a powerful presence in a powerful time in our history.
What was your original college major? Kinesiology

What do you love most about working in public education? Connecting with kids and helping them to connect to their future, whether that be a helping conversation, teaching a life lesson, giving advice or pushing them toward excellence. It all helps them be better prepared for their future.
