BISD Names Jacob Owen Principal of Hajek Elementary
Burleson Independent School District (BISD) announces Jacob Owen as principal of Hajek Elementary. A Burleson graduate, Owen has dedicated 10 of his 12 years in education to BISD, bringing valuable experience as a campus administrator, teacher, and coach to his new role.
Owen served as a campus administrator in BISD, where his leadership and connections with students and staff quickly made a positive impact. As an assistant principal, he played a key role on the instructional leadership team, led campus leadership teams, and contributed to educational improvement committees. Owen also collaborated with staff to enhance instruction, support student needs, and build a positive school culture. He began his career in BISD as a math teacher and coach, where he promoted student achievement and mentored student-athletes. He holds a Bachelor of Science from McMurry University and a Master of Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington.
“Jacob Owen is a trusted leader who leads with heart, purpose, and a strong focus on relationships,” said BISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Jimerson. “His deep roots in our community and proven ability to connect with students, families, and staff make him the right fit to lead Hajek Elementary into its next chapter of success.”
“I'm thrilled to work alongside such an experienced and successful team,” said Owen. “I look forward to partnering with the staff and community to support the students at Hajek Elementary. It's an honor to serve the Burleson community.”
Hajek Elementary will host a campus meet-and-greet event for parents, students, and staff on Wednesday, June 18, from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
