BISD Names Brad Schilder Principal of Kerr Middle School

Burleson Independent School District (BISD) announces Brad Schilder as principal of Kerr Middle School. As a Burleson graduate, Schilder brings 17 years of experience in education, including five years as both middle and high school administrator in BISD, to his new role.

Schilder most recently served as principal of the Game Development Design School, serving students in grades six through 12, and was previously the district’s Special Services Coordinator. He began his career in BISD as an assistant principal at Burleson High School and was also an academic assistant principal at Hughes Middle School, where his leadership and commitment to students and staff quickly set him apart. He holds a bachelor's degree from Texas Wesleyan University, where he was a four-year letterman in basketball and captain of the 2006 men's basketball national championship team. Schilder also earned a Master of Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas.

“Brad Schilder’s leadership, dedication to students, and experience in BISD make him the ideal leader for Kerr Middle School,” said BISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Jimerson. “We look forward to seeing his continued positive impact on students in BISD.”

“I would like to thank BISD leadership, Dr. Jimerson, and the BISD Board of Trustees for trusting me with this opportunity,” said Schilder. “I look forward to serving our students and families while working alongside our teachers and staff to strengthen our Kerr community.”

Schilder will begin the transition to Kerr Middle School to prepare for the 2025-2026 school year. Kerr Middle School will host a campus meet-and-greet event for parents, students, and staff on Tuesday, June 10, from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
