BISD Celebrates 116 Students for Earning AP Scholar Awards

In Burleson ISD, 116 students earned Advanced Placement (AP) recognition from The College Board for outstanding college-level achievement on their AP exams during the 2020-21 school year. 

Two students received the AP Seminar and Research CertificateTM for earning scores of 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research.

Eight students received the AP Capstone DiplomaTM for earning scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar, AP Research, and on four additional AP Exams. 

Seventy-five students earned the AP Scholar award for receiving scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.

Ten students earned the AP Scholar with Honor designation for receiving an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

Twenty-one students earned AP Scholar with Distinction for receiving an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

The AP Program, sponsored by the College Board, offers highly motivated and capable high school students an opportunity to take college-level courses at the local high school.
