Addie Grace Pennywell - 1st Grade

Extracurricular activities: Ballet and Jazz dance

Interests: Addie Grace enjoys spending time with her family and her extended family such as aunts, uncle and cousins.  Many times you will hear her singing a familiar song or even creating a tune to go along with a poem.  She is a crafter and loves to be creative with different types of arts and crafts.

Addie Grace Pennywell exemplifies what it means to be a “Soaring Hajek Hawk”.  She enters the classroom every morning with a smile and greets others with a friendly “Good morning!”  Her work is always her personal best, and she is constantly looking for ways to improve and asking questions to learn more.  Addie Grace is one of the first to help someone out or to give an encouraging word.  I have seen her invite others to play at recess and offer help to a classmate who was struggling with a task.  Addie Grace comes to school every day ready to SOAR and to be the best person she can be.  She is very deserving of this award.

Lucas Lopez - 1st Grade

Extracurricular activities:  Fortnite and football!

Interests:  I like to play with my friends and I like football.  I just like to play and look for my elf.  I want to play football when I am older.

Lucas always participates in class with enthusiasm and excitement.  Sometimes he joins my office hours just for fun! He is kind, honest, generous, incredibly helpful, and an excellent problem solver.  Lucas has made teaching first grade in a virtual setting exciting and fun!  He deserves this honor and I’m very proud of him.
