Burleson ISD Names Uriel Uranga Principal of Taylor Elementary

June 30, 2022 – Burleson Independent School District (BISD) announces Uriel Uranga as Taylor Elementary Principal.

Uranga brings 10 years of education experience to his new position in BISD, most recently serving as Dean of Instruction at a junior high school. A successful administrator, Uranga cultivated relationships with families and created an engagement program focused on involving men and father figures with the school, which is still in existence. Uranga also oversaw the bilingual, English as a second language, gifted and talented, and special education programs. Prior to becoming an administrator, he was an instructional coach and teacher.  Uranga earned his bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s in educational leadership from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and is pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership from Tarleton State University.

“Mr. Uranga is an impressive instructional leader who emphasizes relationships to positively impact the school community,” said BISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Jimerson. “Mr. Uranga comes highly recommended, including by one of our own BISD principals. He and his family live in Burleson, his wife teaches in our district, and his children attend our schools. He is excited to be joining our BISD team, and we are thrilled to have him. He is a strong addition to our team as Taylor Elementary Principal.”

“It is truly an honor to join the Burleson ISD community, and I am excited for the opportunity to help make a difference at Taylor Elementary,” said Uranga. “I hope to instill a passion for learning, just like my educators instilled in me as a child. My goal is to continue creating lifelong learners alongside my fellow educators at Taylor.”

Parents, students, and staff will receive information on a celebratory meet-and-greet event at the campus soon.
