BISD Names Brad Schilder as Principal of Game Development Design School
May 16, 2023 - Burleson Independent School District (BISD) announces Brad Schilder as the new Principal of the Game Development Design School (GDDS). With 15 years of experience in education, including several years as a secondary administrator within BISD, Schilder brings a strong foundation of knowledge and leadership to his new role.
Schilder most recently served as the Special Services Coordinator, where he played a crucial role in creating and implementing various academic services and supports for special education students across the district. He has extensive experience in education, including roles as Academic Assistant Principal at Hughes Middle School and Assistant Principal at Burleson High School. Schilder earned his bachelor's degree from Texas Wesleyan University, where he excelled both academically and athletically as a four-year letterman in basketball and captain of the 2006 men's basketball national championship team. He furthered his education by obtaining a master's degree from the University of North Texas and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree from Tarleton State University.
"Mr. Schilder's ability to connect with students and his innovative thinking make him an ideal fit for GDDS,” said BISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Jimerson. “We are confident that under his guidance, GDDS will continue to thrive and empower students to reach new heights."
Schilder expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead and serve the GDDS community.
"I am honored to have the opportunity to work with such a talented staff and to guide the students at GDDS," said Schilder. "The innovative approach to education at GDDS is truly inspiring, and I am dedicated to ensuring that all students reach their full potential."
