BISD Names Aundré Walker as Principal of Kerr Middle School

June 12, 2023 - Burleson Independent School District (BISD) announces Aundré Walker as the Principal of Kerr Middle School (KMS). Walker brings 13 years of education experience to his new role as KMS Principal, including success as a secondary administrator, teacher, and coach. 

Most recently serving as the Assistant Principal at Centennial High School, Walker began his career in education as a middle school science teacher, demonstrating a profound commitment to inspiring a passion for learning in his students. Walker served as a team leader, department chair, and campus leadership committee member while also coaching basketball and football teams, mentoring and instilling teamwork, discipline, and resilience into his players. Building upon his successful teaching career, Walker transitioned into educational leadership roles. He served as a  middle school Instructional Support Specialist, providing support and guidance to teachers in lesson planning, assessment preparation, and effective teaching strategies. During this time, Walker facilitated professional learning community meetings to promote collaboration among educators and foster continuous improvement. Walker’s ability to create inclusive and supportive learning environments for students and his talent for cultivating strong relationships with staff and parents contributed to his success as an Assistant Principal. Walker holds a bachelor’s degree from West Texas A&M University and a Master of Education Administration from Lamar University.

“It is an honor and privilege that the Board of Trustees and Dr. Jimerson have entrusted me to be the Principal of Kerr Middle School,” said Walker. “I am eager to meet the Cougar family in the very near future and begin working with them to provide excellent service to the students, their families, and the community of BISD.”
