Kerr Middle School Receives Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School Award

May 18, 2022 - Kerr Middle School is recognized as a Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School for the 2021-2022 school year. This award celebrates schools that go the extra mile each day in creating safe and welcoming environments where students are relationally connected and eager to learn.

Kerr Middle School is one of 376 campuses in the nation to be selected as a 2021-2022 Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School. 

“I am extremely proud of our campus for being named a National Showcase School for the third consecutive year,” said Kerr Middle School Principal Yvonne Hensley. “Our students, teachers and staff work hard at building relationships and a campus culture where everyone feels like they belong, and this honor affirms their efforts.” 

Recognized by the Flippen Group, Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School awardees are evaluated and selected based on survey and performance data from administrators, teachers, staff, and students. Decreases in discipline referrals as well as positive campus culture and climate are common themes among the data from awarded campuses.
