The highest-ranked schools are those whose students excelled on state tests and performed beyond expectations; participated in and passed a variety of college-level exams; and graduated in high proportions, according to a U.S. News & World Report release.
“It is a tremendous accomplishment to have both BHS and CHS recognized nationally as top-performing schools,” said BISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Jimerson. “Students in BISD continue to excel, and this recognition is evidence of our dedication to provide a quality education for all.”
The U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools analyzed data from 24,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia to identify top-performing high schools based on six factors for the 2017-2018 academic year: college readiness, reading and math proficiency, reading and math performance, college curriculum breadth, underserved student performance, and graduation rates.
“BISD is committed to developing high-quality academic programs,” said BISD Chief Academic Officer April Chiarelli. “This achievement is well-deserved recognition of our students and staff.”
