BISD Names Dr. Lindsey Byrd Principal of Burleson Collegiate High School
June 2, 2020 – The Burleson Independent School District (BISD) announced Dr. Lindsey Byrd as the new Burleson Collegiate High School Principal. Dr. Byrd brings 14 years of education experience to her new role as Principal of Burleson Collegiate High School, most recently serving as the Academy at Nola Dunn principal.
A former teacher, Dr. Byrd also provided dyslexia services to students in the district and was a campus administrator for eight years. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas Wesleyan University.
“Dr. Byrd is an accomplished administrator who has made a tremendous impact on our students and school community through her various roles,” said BISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Jimerson. “We believe she will continue her success at Burleson Collegiate High School.”
Byrd looks forward to joining the Panther family and working with students as they earn high school and college credits.
“As a high school student who was dual-enrolled and earning college credits, I know firsthand what these students are working towards,” said Dr. Byrd. “I am thankful for this full-circle moment and the opportunity to guide these students as they finish their academic careers in BISD.”
Dr. Byrd added that former principal Wieland and staff built an incredible campus and Panther family.
“Supporting and guiding students as they navigate their workload while instilling strong character, motivation, and balance are at the heart of my commitment to our Panther family.”
Dr. Byrd will begin the transition to Burleson Collegiate High School and start planning the 2020-2021 school year. Parents and students will be invited to a celebratory meet-and-greet event in August.
