BCHS Update - 3/27/2020
I hope everyone is safe and doing well. I wanted to update you on a few items from the week. First, you have no doubt heard that school closure for BISD has been extended through April 13th to match the City of Burleson's declaration. Teachers are working intently to prepare for the shift to digital learning that will start on April 6th.
Next week, our students need to continue to focus on their college courses and work, checking Hill College and BISD email, and checking their Google Classrooms for high school courses for announcements. We will not be assigning work for high school classes until April 6th. Students are encouraged to work on the online resources provided by BISD to keep up their skills and learning during this short break.
Secondly, if your student needs a VOE or transcript, they can still request those through the online links on our website. Office staff will work with you on getting the VOE to you.
At the bottom of this parentlink, we have included a link to our teachers' office hours. If your student needs help in high school or college classes, they can reach out to our teachers for help. We are here to support your students.
The district is working out the details regarding grades, credits, graduation, and other important topics and I will share them with you, once the district procedures are in place. Let me reassure you, students will finish courses for this year and have the opportunity to earn credit for the courses they are enrolled in. Remind your student to stay on track for college, keep up their high school course skills, and take a deep breath. We will all get through this together! BCHS Scheduled Office Hours
See below for a letter from Mrs. Alley:
I understand that this may be a very stressful and emotional time for our students and families. The health and well-being of our BCHS Panthers and families is my top priority, so I would like to make you aware of a few specific services that will be made available to our families during this closure.
Social-emotional learning lessons are provided for parents and students to facilitate at home during this time, and they are being updated daily/weekly.
Below is the BISD District Learning Page Link. When you scroll to the bottom, right hand side, you will see the link for Social Emotional Resources. We are continuing to update with Food Pantry resources on this page as well, to help our BISD families. Also, our district continues to provide breakfast and lunch combos at Brock, Taylor, Mound, and Norwood from 10am-2pm. In addition, if I can help in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me at 469-702-1042.
