BISD High Schools Among U.S. News & World Report’s Best High Schools
Burleson, Centennial, and Burleson Collegiate high schools rank in the top 35% of high schools nationwide
Three Burleson ISD high schools rank among the nation’s best in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2023-2024 Best High Schools ranking, placing Burleson High School, Centennial High School, and Burleson Collegiate High School in the top 35% in the nation.
Among the 17,680 schools nationwide, Centennial High School ranks in the top 32%, Burleson High School ranks in the top 33%, and Burleson Collegiate High School ranks in the top 35%. In Texas, all three high schools rank in the top 35% out of 1,532 schools.
The top-ranked schools are those whose students demonstrated outstanding outcomes above expectations in math, reading, and science state assessments, earned qualifying scores in an array of college-level exams, and graduated in high proportions, according to U.S. News & World Report.
“It is a tremendous achievement to have BHS, BCHS, and CHS recognized nationally as high-performing schools,” said BISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Jimerson. “Students in BISD continue to excel, and this recognition is evidence of our dedication to providing a quality education for all.”
The U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools identified top-performing high schools based on six factors: college readiness, state assessment proficiency and performance, college curriculum breadth, underserved student performance, and graduation rate. Rankings were computed using data from the 2020-2021 and 2018-2019 school years.
