Burleson ISD Names Jessica Tyler as Centennial High School Volleyball Coach

April 6, 2020 – The Burleson Independent School District (BISD) announced Jessica Tyler as the new Centennial High School Head Volleyball Coach at the special board meeting April 6. Tyler brings 16 years of education and coaching experience in addition to district, area, and regional success to her new role at Centennial High School.

At the college level, Tyler played volleyball and basketball at Navarro College and Texas A&M University-Commerce. She earned a master’s degree in Learning Technology and Information Systems from Texas A&M University-Commerce and most recently served as head volleyball coach in Irving and Mansfield ISDs.

“We welcome Mrs. Tyler to Burleson ISD,” said BISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Jimerson. “We are confident her track record of success as both a player and coach will take the CHS volleyball program to new heights.”

A long-standing member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association and Texas Girls Coaches Association, Tyler looks forward to her new role in Burleson.

“Burleson ISD is known for its innovative leadership style and dedication to student success,” said Tyler. “I look forward to joining the Burleson ISD team and leading the Centennial volleyball program to a tradition of success,” said Tyler.

"We sought a coach with successful volleyball experience who could transform Centennial into a perpetual contender while providing long-term stability to the program,” said BISD Athletic Director Kevin Ozee. “The committee interviewed several talented coaches, and Coach Tyler really stood out. I am excited about the future of Centennial’s volleyball program and Coach Tyler’s impact on the Burleson community.”

Tyler and husband Sean have two daughters, Kensli and Aliana. Parents and students will be invited to a celebratory meet-and-greet event when school reopens.
