Schimming’s 16 years of experience in education includes seven years within BISD, where she consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership. Her most recent position as BISD’s Director of Special Services showcased her ability to oversee district processes for Special Education, 504, dyslexia, and homebound services. Schimming also excelled as Principal of Frazier Elementary for three years and Principal of Hughes Middle School for two years. She fostered a positive culture that prioritized growth and development while building strong relationships with students, staff, and parents. Schimming holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, a master's degree from Concordia University, and a doctorate from Tarleton State University.
This appointment highlights BISD's commitment to recognizing and fostering exceptional talent within the district.
"Dr. Schimming's outstanding leadership and commitment to building strong relationships have had a profound impact on our school community,” said BISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Jimerson. “I have full confidence that she will bring this level of excellence to her new position at Centennial High School."
The announcement marks a significant milestone in Schimming's educational career.
"I am honored that, because of the Board of Trustees and Dr. Jimerson, I have held various leadership roles in Burleson ISD throughout the years," said Schimming. "I loved and embraced every challenge they entrusted me with, and I believe all of those experiences, combined with my background as a high school teacher and Assistant Principal, have led me straight to CHS. Knowing that I am a part of a school community that is in my own backyard is beyond thrilling. I am eager to meet the Spartan family in the coming days and get this adventure started!"
Parents, students, and staff will receive information on a celebratory meet-and-greet event at the campus soon.
