Burleson ISD Names Brian Bowman Principal of Centennial High School

June 6, 2022 – Burleson Independent School District (BISD) announces Brian Bowman as Centennial High School Principal.

Bowman brings 22 years of education experience to BISD, most recently serving as a seven-year principal at a large, highly acclaimed high school that received the second most academic distinctions in Regions 7 and 8. Under Bowman’s leadership, the school also received 18 academic distinctions in three years from the Texas Education Agency, earned UIL Lone Star Cup top 20 recognition, and ranked among the U.S. World News & Report’s top high schools in Texas. Bowman earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler and a master’s degree in education administration from Lamar University. Prior to serving as principal and in district administration roles, Bowman was a teacher and coach.

“Brian is an accomplished leader with a track record of success,” said BISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Jimerson. “He is a former college athlete who brings that competitive spirit to his new role. He will be a committed partner with students and staff in lifting CHS to new heights. Brian is as excited as we are for what the future holds for CHS.”

Bowman met with several members of the district leadership team during his interview process, each of which selected him as their top choice candidate to lead the Spartans at Centennial High School.

"Burleson ISD is a district known throughout our state for its excellence and for all of the innovative programs it has to offer,” said Bowman. “Since Dr. Jimerson became superintendent, I have watched and followed the transformation that has taken place in the district. I am honored to be selected as principal at Centennial High School, and I am excited about the opportunity to be a part of the team.”

Centennial High School will host a meet-and-greet event at the campus Friday, June 10. Staff is invited to join in welcoming him to the campus from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. Parents and students are invited to join from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
