BISD Names Dave Mason Principal of Academy of the Arts at Bransom

Burleson Independent School District (BISD) announces Dave Mason as principal of the Academy of the Arts at Bransom. Mason brings 28 years of education experience to his new role, including nine years serving as the Academy of the Arts at Bransom Assistant Principal.

Mason has played a key role in shaping Bransom into the fine arts academy it is today. During his nine years as assistant principal, he helped lead growth in both the school’s arts program and academic achievement, building on his previous experience in fine arts education and leadership. His work helped strengthen campus culture, expand arts integration, and support high-quality instruction, while fostering strong relationships with students, staff, and families. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, both from the University of Texas at Arlington. 

“Having served as the assistant principal for years, Dave knows the campus and has built the relationships,” said BISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Jimerson. “He is the right person to lead Bransom Elementary.”

“I'm truly honored to accept the position of Principal at the Academy of the Arts at Bransom,” said Mason. “After serving as Assistant Principal here for the past nine years, being part of this Bobcat Family has meant so much to me, and it's a privilege to continue to serve our students, staff, and families in this new role. I'm grateful for the opportunity and excited to keep building on the great work already happening here.”
