BISD Announces Frazier Elementary as a New School of Choice
Board Approves Academy of Sports and Wellness at Frazier Elementary
At tonight’s board meeting, trustees approved Frazier Elementary as the district’s first Academy of Sports and Wellness, creating a new school of choice for BISD families.
The Academy of Sports and Wellness at Frazier Elementary is designed to integrate academic excellence, wellness, and physical health to support the development of well-rounded students. This new model expands BISD’s choice offerings, further illustrating its commitment to providing opportunities for tailored instruction.
Frazier Elementary has served the Burleson community for more than 60 years, opening as BISD’s second elementary campus. Beginning Fall 2026 as a choice school, Frazier will offer specialized rotations, expanded wellness and nutrition instruction, and increased opportunities for student leadership and family engagement. Classroom instruction will continue to use high-quality instructional materials with movement embedded to support learning, alongside enhanced physical education experiences focused on wellness, sportsmanship, and lifelong physical activity.
The Academy of Sports and Wellness will also be supported through partnerships with community organizations, including Texas Health Resources and The First Tee Fort Worth.
With Board approval, Frazier Elementary enters a new chapter that honors its history while offering an innovative learning pathway for BISD students living within the campus attendance zone as well as those selected to attend through the school of choice and transfer application process.
