Interested in joining our Special Education team?

BISD is investing in Special Education staff for the 2026-2027 school year with an additional stipend for eligible staff assigned to self-contained instructional programs, including:

  • BASE
  • Tiered BASE
  • Structured Learning Classroom (SLC)
  • Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)
  • Functional Life Skills (FLS)
  • Functional Academics (FA)

Eligible staff will receive:

  • Teachers: $2,000 stipend
  • Paraprofessionals: $1,000 stipend

This is in addition to the recently announced salary increase and one-time retention payments for current teachers and paraprofessionals.
