A new immunization record will be required of ALL incoming 7th-grade students prior to the first day of school. Immunization records may be submitted to the school nurse starting now using our the link below. The parent/guardian will be notified by email from a BISD nurse after the record has been reviewed and verified.
An up-to-date record showing proof of the following vaccinations or an appropriate exemption affidavit is required to begin 7th grade:
Meningococcal: One dose of the quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine is required on or after the student’s 11th birthday. If a student received the vaccine at 10 years of age, this will satisfy the requirement. Any meningococcal shot administered during the child’s 9th year will not count towards compliance.
Tetanus: One booster dose of Tdap/Td if at least 5 years have passed since the last tetanus-containing vaccine.
