Sulphur Springs High School
in May of 1940.

Stribling served in the European Theater of Operations
during World War II. His unit
fought in a number of battles including the Battle of the
Bulge. |

The Battle of the Bulge was the
last German offensive of World War II. It was launched
at the end of 1944 in an attempt to divide the British
and American forces and retake the seaport of Antwerp,
in Belgium. Shown here are German troops.

He holds a bachelors and masters
degree from A&M University at Commerce. He was a classroom
teacher and principal before being elected Superintendent of
Schools.

Mr.
Stribling was a superintendent for twenty-nine years, in
four different school districts of Texas. He retired as
superintendent of Burleson ISD in June of 1980.

honored by being named Citizen of the Year in Frisco,
Mt. Vernon and Burleson.
In 1993, he was named
Volunteer of the Year by the City of Burleson. |
