STEAM Middle School Student Recognized by Burleson Lions Club

Student Named Camper of the Week at Texas Lions Camp


BURLESON, Texas – (Feb. 1, 2018) – The Burleson Lions Club presented STEAM Middle School student, Lorenzo Orozco, with a plaque and trophy for being named as a Camper of the Week at the yearly Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville. Brock Elementary School Nurse Alicia Berry nominated Lorenzo for the week-long camp where he was chosen by camp counselors for his achievement.

“We are very proud to work so closely with BISD to send students to camp each year, and we look forward to sending Lorenzo again this summer,” said Lions Club President Philo Waters.

The Burleson Lions Club and Burleson ISD Special Services Department partner to send campers with disabilities to a summer camp each year. Last year, the Lions Club sent nine Burleson ISD students to the camp at no cost to the families. If you know of a student who may qualify for the Lions Camp, contact any Burleson ISD campus nurse for more information.
