Burleson ISD Career and Technical Education Mission

The mission of Burleson ISD Career and Technical Education is to provide a strong academic foundation which enables students to explore post-secondary career and educational options, create individual programs of study aligned with their goals, pursue their ambitions through rigorous and relevant courses, and prepare for their future roles as citizens, leaders, and contributors within the global community.

Burleson ISD’s Career and Technical Education program is an important part of the education of our students in BISD.  We believe the success of the CTE department could not happen without the strong support by Burleson ISD Board of Trustees and the Superintendent in providing resources necessary for quality programs for our students.

We believe that all students deserve to pursue programs of study to prepare them for success in post-secondary education and a globally competitive workplace. Career and Technology focuses on college and career readiness, because by its very definition, college readiness is career readiness. We believe students need strong academic preparation in core courses as well as opportunities to pursue advanced learning in courses of interest related to potential future careers.

We embrace an attitude of continuous improvement by keeping informed of current trends in business and industry.  It is through involvement and teamwork among members of the BISD family, parents, and our business and post-secondary partners that we are able to provide relevant “real world” experiences coupled with high academic standards that greatly enhance our students’ future successes.

BISD Career and Technical Education is a great way for students to prepare for the highly technological and competitive workplace of the 21st Century.
