Schoolyard Habitat Program Grant

The Schoolyard Habitat Program, an initiative of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, helps teachers and students create a school wildlife habitat. Typical projects include wetlands, meadows, forests and variations based on specific ecoregions. The first step to creating a successful Schoolyard Habitat Project is to create a team that includes students, teachers, parents, administrators, and community members who will support the project. This team will ensure the project is created with full participation of the school and will create the foundation of support the school needs for sustainability. Participate in Authentic Scientific Research NASA and Arizona State University’s Mars Education Program is offering students nationwide the opportunity to be involved in authentic Mars research by participating in the Mars Student Imaging Project (MSIP). Teams of students in grades 5–12 will work with scientists, mission planners and educators at Arizona State University’s Mars Space Flight Facility to image a site on Mars using the visible wavelength camera onboard the Mars Odyssey spacecraft, which is currently orbiting Mars every two hours.
