Can your students outsmart the dragon? Invite them to play The China Game. It’s based on the board game Feilong (pronounced Fay-loong) by the Center for Asian Studies at The University of Vermont. Feilong, which translates to “flying dragon,” is a question-based game designed for players with limited, intermediate as well as extensive knowledge of China. Students will develop an understanding of Mesopotamia (located in what is now modern Iraq) with Discover Babylon, a FREE, DOWNLOADABLE game that brings alive Mesopotamia’s diverse contributions in writing, mathematics, literature and law. Against All Odds, an interactive online game created by the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), increases students’ awareness and knowledge of refugee situations by putting players in the position of a refugee. Students follow a young person’s flight from oppression in his or her home country to exile in an asylum country.
