ePals, in partnership with the Smithsonian’s Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation, has launched Invent It, the second annual invention contest for K–12 students. This year the contest includes both a school theme and an opened-ended theme for students seeking more freedom in their creative projects. In Challenge 1 (school theme), students think about a problem in their school and come up with an invention to solve it. In Challenge 2 (school theme), students find an invention that is used in their school and tell how they would improve it.
