Templates created by/for BISD Teachers

These files were created for teachers and students to use if they
are uncomfortable with creating PowerPoint Presentations from scratch.
Each one has instructions below each slide in the notes box explaining to the student exactly what to do on each slide. Click on the link and save them to their desktop.

Thomas Edison Biography Template - This template was created for a class to write a biography PowerPoint on Thomas Edison. It can be adjusted to write any biograohy.

Poem Template - This template was created to allow students to type in poems they had written.

Habitats Template - This template walks students through creating a PowerPoint presentation on 4 habitats. The students should have already done the research before beginning.

Portfolio Template - This template allows students to create a portfolio of their work.

Texas Facts - This template guides students into creating a presentation on facts of the State of Texas.

Sentence Writing - This Microsoft Word template was created for 1st grade. It was created as a form and is protected. The students can’t change the content of the document, only the input. For a teacher to change the content, you need to unprotect the form - password is “sentence”.

Games

These PowerPoint activities can be downloaded and customized for any classroom or topic.

100,000 Dollar Pyramid - Put your vocabulary words or phrases in the squares. Students pair up and one student must get the other to say the vocabulary word and phrase by giving them clues.

Be A Champion - This football themed game lets teams of students answer questions to earn touchdowns!

Concentration - Use your own vocabulary, photos, or classroom content to customize this classic matching game.

Hollywood Squares 1 - Customize the questions asked by stars in this PowerPoint version of the famous game show.

Hollywood Squares 2 - Another variation of the popular game show ready for your customization.

Hollywood Squares 3 - A blank Hollywood Squares template for you to customize.

Jeopardy 1 - Who is? Remember to give your answer in the form of a question when reviewing with this popular game.

Jeopardy Examples - Here are several versions of the Jeopardy Game for Download!!!

Off to the Races - Up to four teams can compete by answering questions asked by the teacher to move their horse closer to the finish line.

Race and Review - Four teams move their race cars around the track by correctly answering questions from the teacher.

Survivor - Based on the television phenomenon, teams answer questions and complete assignments to earn the Immunity Idol and vote someone off the island. Download Immunity Idol HERE (word document).

What is the Edusim?

The Edusim is an educational 3D interactive virtual environment platform (Metaverse) built on Croquet with resource packs being developed for the K-12 classroom by the Greenbush Education Service Center.

The goal of the Edusim project is to provide a safe 3D interactive environment for classroom activities (interactive white boards, modeling, machinima, and MORE).

The Edusim on an interactive whiteboard surface is an extremely powerful way to engage your students. Students can connect to the interactive whiteboard from the Edusim running on their desktop computers, or by connecting several interactive whiteboards together using the Edusim and the school network to create a collaborative 3D interactive environment where students from multiple classrooms can connect and collaborate virtually!

You can ask your students to decide as you enjoy browsing through UCLA’s Online Archive of American Folk Medicine. For example, according to the database, warts can be removed by a seventh son - who will rub them off…but only if he accepts no money for the deed!

Imagine tying this into history or literature lessons! What fun!

Go Ask Alice, an online Q & A forum created and maintained by Columbia University allows users to ask questions and get medically correct answers from real experts. It’s a great resource for teachers - but teachers beware: no subject is off limits so there may be some interesting content - check it out before sending students.
