Thomas Edison Biography Template - This template was created for a class to write a biography PowerPoint on Thomas Edison. It can be adjusted to write any biograohy.

Poem Template - This template was created to allow students to type in poems they had written.

Habitats Template - This template walks students through creating a PowerPoint presentation on 4 habitats. The students should have already done the research before beginning.

Portfolio Template - This template allows students to create a portfolio of their work.

Texas Facts - This template guides students into creating a presentation on facts of the State of Texas.

Sentence Writing - This Microsoft Word template was created for 1st grade. It was created as a form and is protected. The students can’t change the content of the document, only the input. For a teacher to change the content, you need to unprotect the form - password is “sentence”.

Check out the Teacher resource and print the Slope Slider Explorations Sheet and Slope Slider Record Sheet.  I had my students record the results of 4 different graphs on the record sheet.  They were asked to create 1 line initially and record their results (no decimals please), then they only changed the y-intercept and created 3 new lines and recorded those results.  They DISCOVERED that parallel lines have the same slope!

This site guides teachers through the process of creating online research modules for their students. The research model presented here is intended to “challenge your students to make up their own minds while supplying them with rich information to support such thinking,” and the guidance includes advice on asking good questions, scaffolding the assignment to direct student efforts, and setting up the online module in stages. Authored by Jamie McKenzie, publisher of the From Now On Educational Technology Journal, Module Maker includes examples and templates to help teachers get started with their own online research modules.

The Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology and the Media Production Group, Simon Fraser University created a web site on the first peopling of the New World with funding from the Virtual Museum of Canada. This multi level educational resource was designed as a series of reusable learning objects, thus maximizing its educational potential. Based on a spiral curriculum approach, the site targets multiple learning styles as well as cognitive, affective and other domains to present complex current research in a public forum. The stunning visuals, engaging games, interactive timelines and video interviews with leading scientists can be accessed by a large variety of viewers. Purpose:  The purpose of Periodic Table of Podcasts was for students to learn about various elements on the periodic table by conducting research using the Internet and then creating educational and interesting podcast based upon that research using their tablet PC’s, Audacity, and other technology.

Invitation: We invite students from any school to participate in the development of the “Periodic Table of Podcasts”.  To participate, instructions are provided within this website.  There are very easy ways to create audio files in the classroom even if you have only a few computers.
