Check out the Teacher resource and print the Slope Slider Explorations Sheet and Slope Slider Record Sheet. I had my students record the results of 4 different graphs on the record sheet. They were asked to create 1 line initially and record their results (no decimals please), then they only changed the y-intercept and created 3 new lines and recorded those results. They DISCOVERED that parallel lines have the same slope!

You can explore:

British History - Explore all of British history, from the Neolithic to the present day, with this easy-to-use interactive timeline.

Ages of English - From a West Saxon dialect to a global phenomenon, from runes to rap, the development of English follows a fascinating trail.

Ages of Treasure - Explore artefacts from the Palaeolithic to the Norman Conquest

Kings and Queens Through Time - A timeline of dynasties and key events in England

Prime Ministers and Politics - Three hundred years of high ideals and low cunning

And the particularly harrowing

Genocide Under the Nazis - This timeline takes you through all 12 years of Nazi rule. But it deliberately deprives you of the benefit of hindsight or a view of the future, ensuring you experience events in the sequence they happened to those who lived through them.

You loved the arcade game “Whack-A-Mole” as a kid…where you used a rubber mallet to try to whack a mole as it popped out of a hole. This game teaches students coordinates, plotting, and graphing by using the same game. The wiley mole appears at different points on your graph. You must quickly select the correct coordinates of the mole so you can “whack” it before it gets all of your food! Earn points and play any of the three available levels - easy, medium, and hard.

Use this game to help you teach quadrants and basic graphing in math and science class. Set up like the old fashioned Battleship game, students enter the graphing coordinates where they would like to hide their pieces. They then compete against the computer, having to actually click on the plotted point the computer chooses to mark the computer’s choices, and entering coordinates to locate the computers pieces. Fun for all ages.
