I went to several broadcast workshops where they were using quick clips to help students with TAKS. This website has more than just the broadcast notes. http://www.pasadenaisd.org/tcea/

You can also use Photo Story 3 to make videos from still pictures and the students love it! There was a school that used the incentive of making a Photo Story 3 movie out of the students work (they had to score a 4 to do this) that raised their TAKS writing scores. They actually had students that had never wanted to learn about revising doing a ton of revising just to get to make a movie out of their story.

Here is another site that has more than just broadcast information on it http://tweb.lisd.net/melissa_hall/index.htm.

Check out the Teacher resource and print the Slope Slider Explorations Sheet and Slope Slider Record Sheet. I had my students record the results of 4 different graphs on the record sheet. They were asked to create 1 line initially and record their results (no decimals please), then they only changed the y-intercept and created 3 new lines and recorded those results. They DISCOVERED that parallel lines have the same slope!

Including the Instructional Technology staff, 22 BISD teachers recently joined over 8000 other Texas teachers in attending the TCEA (Texas Computer Educator Association) conference in Austin. They were joined by teachers from the BHS Business Department and Technology leaders. Dedicated teachers rushed from session to session in an effort to learn all they could about integrating technology into their curriculum. Doni Bracht did a fabulous job of teaching a podcasting class to a large group of teachers from across Texas. IT is inviting our teachers to record their experiences and share links to resources about what they learned this past week at TCEA. They might even tell you about the things they won!

British History - Explore all of British history, from the Neolithic to the present day, with this easy-to-use interactive timeline.

Ages of English - From a West Saxon dialect to a global phenomenon, from runes to rap, the development of English follows a fascinating trail.

Ages of Treasure - Explore artefacts from the Palaeolithic to the Norman Conquest

Kings and Queens Through Time - A timeline of dynasties and key events in England

Prime Ministers and Politics - Three hundred years of high ideals and low cunning

And the particularly harrowing

Genocide Under the Nazis - This timeline takes you through all 12 years of Nazi rule. But it deliberately deprives you of the benefit of hindsight or a view of the future, ensuring you experience events in the sequence they happened to those who lived through them.
