School Net ...This tool for BISD teachers contains BISD Curriculum and Lessons all broken down by TEKS standards. You can also look at standardized test data and create groups within your classes to track your students' progress. You can search for lessons and contribute your own to the database. The site even has a lesson plan calendar so you can drop in your assignments and plan out your semester.

Using the Internet to Promote Inquiry Based Learning...A great resource for learning how to develop an Internet based inquiry learning project. The site has links to everything from develoment and search engines to assessing web-based products and designing online instruction. Some general technology links can be found here as well...a must see site if you're incorporating technology into your curriculum.

Microsoft Lesson Plans for Students and Educators...This site offers lessons by subject area. All lessons come with step by step instructions, screen shots of examples, teacher guides, estimated time alloted for the lesson, and more.

Templates created by/for BISD Teachers

These files were created for teachers and students to use if they
are uncomfortable with creating PowerPoint Presentations from scratch.
Each one has instructions below each slide in the notes box explaining to the student exactly what to do on each slide. Click on the link and save them to their desktop.

Thomas Edison Biography Template - This template was created for a class to write a biography PowerPoint on Thomas Edison. It can be adjusted to write any biograohy.

Poem Template - This template was created to allow students to type in poems they had written.

Habitats Template - This template walks students through creating a PowerPoint presentation on 4 habitats. The students should have already done the research before beginning.

Portfolio Template - This template allows students to create a portfolio of their work.

Texas Facts - This template guides students into creating a presentation on facts of the State of Texas.

Sentence Writing - This Microsoft Word template was created for 1st grade. It was created as a form and is protected. The students can't change the content of the document, only the input. For a teacher to change the content, you need to unprotect the form - password is "sentence".

Graphic Converter...Do you have a lot of great pictures you'd like to put on your website or blog? Reduce their size using this helpful program so that you can add them to the web!

Lame_enc.dll...You will need to download this file in order to export your Audacity files as MP3s.

Audacity...This audio software allows you to record your voice, edit, add effects and music, and export as MP3 files. Great for podcasting, making audio attachments for emails and powerpoint presentations, and much more.

PhotoStory 3...This great multi-media tool can be used to create animated photo slideshows with text, transition effects, and music. Great for digital story telling.
