High School Summer School 2013

 Students Enrolled in English Classes

IIn order to gain a credit in English, each student must complete three written. Some students complete and pass these assignments with no problem; other students must do some rewriting.

An English teacher will be available for questions or additional help each day summer school is in session between 8:00 a.m. and noon. If you come to the campus during those hours you may work at school on the writings (there is no lab fee charge if you are only doing the writings). Working at school means you will have access to the teacher who can score your work and let you know if it is complete, or needs to be re-done.

All English students enrolled in summer school will need to have their writing assignments completed by Wednesday, July 3. Failure to do so may result in no credit for that particular course. If rewrites are required, students should come to campus to write the corrections.

All corrections must be turned in by Tuesday, July 16, 2013

Taking Notes, Grading, Final Exam

Take notes during your tutorials. Any handwritten notes you take may be used on quizzes, mastery tests and the final. We recommend getting a spiral notebook. Notes used on the final must be handwritten by the student using the notes. No copies or screenshots allowed on finals. Students who take and use their notes will have fewer issues with teacher reviews required and less difficulty passing the required final exam.

English students are required to complete three written assignments for eachsemester of English. These assignments should be done and turned in first.

Final exams should be taken within a few days of completing coursework. Finals may only be taken in the lab at school; call to schedule a time:

BHS and Out of District students call 817-245-0030

CHS students call 817-245-0289

The course work, module quizzes, and final exam will each count as 33.3% of your final grade.
