Right Turn Discipline Center
Half Day February 22, 2012
All Right Turn students will attend from 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on February 22, 2012. There will be no lunch provided on this half day. Our teachers and staff will be attending important training and planning the remainder of the year in the afternoon.
What is Right Turn Discipline Center?
The Right Turn Discipline Center (RTDC) is a behavior modification program designed to serve students who have been removed from their home campus and assigned to alternative placement for violating the BISD Code of Conduct or students in the BISD who have been charged with other offenses in the community that warrant an assignment. The RTDC program includes the following components:
· Behavior Management
· Academics
· Life Skills
· A structured environment
All students on the Right Turn campus follow the same general guidelines.
Once your child has been assigned to RTDC: Ø Parent and student must attend an In-Take Meeting. NOTE: Parents MUST notify Right Turn prior to attending an In-Take Meeting.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
FOR PARENTS
Ø Call (817) 245-0500 as soon as possible to make an In-Take Meeting appointment.
¨ Attend the In-Take Meeting, with your child, which will be scheduled on Monday or Wednesday afternoon (3:00 p.m.), or Monday through Friday mornings at 8:00 a.m. In-Take Meetings generally last about 45 minutes.
¨ Each student's assignment will start as quickly as possible once the student has conformed to the dress code and has completed his/her suspension assignment.
¨ The school day for is 7:45 a.m. – 2:45 p.m., Monday thru Friday. RTDC follows the BISD School Calendar.
¨ Transportation will not be provided by BISD.
¨ A parent or guardian will be required to keep their child in their car until he/she is received by an RTDC staff member each morning.
¨ STUDENTS MAY NOT BE “DROPPED-OFF” AT RTDC AND/OR LEFT UNATTENDED AT ANY TIME.
