Transportation Provided for Oak Valley Student Walkers

Monday, August 23, 2010

It is with great excitement that we announce that BISD will be able to provide transportation to students who would normally walk to Centennial High School from the Oak Valley Edition.   This transportation will begin the first day of school, August 24th and continue until a permanent crosswalk is erected by the Texas Department of Transportation.

Morning Pick Up Schedule:
Intersection of Cardinal Ridge and Dylan Ct. - 8:25
Intersection of Cardinal Ridge and Evandale - 8:30
Intersection of Cardinal Ridge and Spring Hill - 8:35
Arrival at CHS - 8:40

The times indicate when the students should be at the specific stops.

After school, the same bus will transport students to the same drop off points as the morning.

We recognize the inconvenience caused by the lack of a crosswalk and are thankful to Central Administration and Durham Transportation for providing a solution.

CHS Traffic Map

Wednesday, August 4, 2010

Please click the link below to view the traffic patterns to be used at Centennial High School.

Note that buses only will be entering from Fox Lane.  There will be an automated gate at that entrance which will remain closed until a school bus approaches.

Visitors and staff will need to enter from Hurst Road and park in the main lot in the front of school.

Parents may drop their students off at either of two locations.  One student drop off is located off the Hurst Road entrance.  Parents will enter, drop off in the front of the school, then continue around the one-way drive to the exit on Hurst Road.  The other student drop off is accessible by entering on Cardinal Ridge and turning left at the dead end.  There is a large covered stairway for student access into "D" Wing.  Parents will then continue on the loop and exit Cardinal Ridge.

Student parking is in the lots between the school and the football field.  It is accessible by entering CHS from Cardinal Ridge.

Thank you.
