School district launches new calendar system

Friday, October 30, 2009

For your convenience, the district has launched a new, easy to use calendar that brings all of its campus/district calendars into one system.  Click here to view it now.  For your convenience, an Interactive Calendar link has been added under District Links located in the right sidebar.

Below are some tips for changing views and printing:

Changing Calendar Views - Once you are viewing a calendar you can change the viewing format.  By default it is set to a grid view.  The other views are category, date/time, summary, and location.  This option is called the "Display Format."  You will also have the option to swithch between day, week, month, and year views.

Printing Calendars - Every calendar can be switched to a printer-friendly view by clicking the print button towards the top right corner.  The print option will take the current calendar view and make it printer-friendly.  Choose the desired calendar view and timeframe to get the expected printing results.

The district value's the community's input and wants to make its new calendars your one source for school/district sponsored events.  Please email your feedback to Phil Beckman pbeckman@burlesonisd.net.

Visiting Burleson High School

Monday, March 30, 2009

The primary responsibility of any school is the safety and security of the students and staff.  In keeping with this philosophy, BHS has made some subtle changes to our parking lot in the front of the school.  You will notice that there are now 10 spaces directly in front of the main entrance to the school marked "Visitors".  The addition of these spaces should make it more convenient for those visiting the school for various reasons to find a place to park close to the entrance.  It should also help to reduce the traffic backup in the afternoons due to cars parked along the curb.  We are also in the process of placing "No Unattended Vehicles" signs along the curb to help with this issue.

We welcome you to BHS at any time.  We just ask that you stop at the Guard Shack on your way in so that they can give you a visitors parking pass for your car dash.  This will help our parking monitors maintain accurate records of who is on campus at any time.  Please return the pass to the Guard Shack upon your departure.

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation with the parking procedures.  We realize that the traffic flow is not optimum, but we are constantly searching for ways to improve.
