About

About Us:

Mound Elementary was built in 1962 and is the oldest continuing elementary school in the Burleson Independent School District . Mound has a principal, an assistant principal, and 54 full-time faculty and staff members.

Our school has an enrollment of approximately 440 students ranging in grade from Pre-Kindergarten to Fifth Grade. For the 2012-2013 school year, we have two half-day sections of Pre-K and PPCD, four kindergarten classes, three 1 st grade classes, four 2nd grade classes, four third grade classes, and three fourth and fifth grade classes each.

Our focus is on student learning and meeting the needs of all students. We are striving to become an effective professional learning community where learning is the central focus and collaboration is a consistent means by which we monitor student progress and achievement and plan for continuous improvement.

Parents are strongly encouraged to maintain contact with his/her child's teacher. Teacher contact can be made by calling the Mound Office at 817-245-3100 to set up a teacher conference, through email, or by sending a note in the Daily Student Planner. Thank you for entrusting us with the education of your child.

We, at Mound Elementary, believe that as a learning community everyone will achieve academic and social excellence. By working together, we will succeed.

  • VALUE STATEMENTS

  • We will work together, accepting differences and making expectations high, clear and obtainable.

  • We will meet regularly in vertical and horizontal teams to collaborate in a positive atmosphere.

  • We will make sure that Mound is a safe, secure, and nurturing place by our actions and attitudes.

  • We will continue to grow in knowledge and try new ideas.

  • We will monitor, adjust and re-teach as needed.

  • We will value hard work, not just ability, remain positive and consistent, and reward risk-taking.

  • We will create a community of learners in which students are responsible for their actions, choices, behavior and learning
