On the 50th day of school our students created a time capsule for future students to see. The Burleson Fire Department came to our "horseshoe" and took a picture from their aerial ladder truck of all of our students and staff that were in the shape of the number 50! We are excited that our school has a rich history of wonderful education with great students and staff that have been a part of Mound Elementary. In March, on Open House night, we will be welcoming back all student and staff alumni of Mound Elementary to help us celebrate this monumental year.

Our students have embraced Rachel's Challenge at Mound Elementary! We are starting a chain reaction of kindness in our everyday actions with our friends and families. Our kindness links are becoming very long chains that show how Mound Mustangs are treating each other with respect.  Our students and staff members are dreaming big dreams and have created their "Dream Boards" to show what their goals and dreams for their lives are. These dream boards are displayed in our hallways for all to see. We would love for you to come by and see them!

Standardized Dress Code 2012-2013
Important Reminders About Our Dress Code:  Our shirt colors are red, white, navy, bright yellow, black. Bottom colors are navy or khaki. Everyone looks amazing!
FYI:
We have reviewed the request for girls to wear polo type dresses.  As a result, we will be adding this clause to our standardized dress code:

School Day Hours:
In the mornings, the front doors will open at 7:15am. The students will go to the gym unless they need to eat breakfast. We will begin our "Mound Morning Meeting" in the gym at 7:35am. The tardy bell rings at 7:45am. All parents are welcome to go the gym in the mornings. We ask that you sign in and get a "visitors pass" before going to the gym.

Traffic Reminders:

If you drop your child off in the front of the school in the morning please remember to park your car in a parking spot. If you would rather use the "pull through" method, you may come around to the horseshoe drop-off located in the back of the school by the gym. We appreciate your help with this. The safety of our students is one of our top priorities.
