Dr. Bret Jimerson

On Monday evening, April 22, 2013, The Board of Trustees oficially approved the selection of Dr. Bret Jimerson as the new Superintendent of the Burleson Independent School District.

Dr. Jimerson holds a Bachelor of Science degree from UTA; Master of Arts in Public Policy from Regent University in Virginia; Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law, Virginia; Master of Business Administration from TCU, and Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from TCU.

He began his career as an attorney and legal clerk for the law firm of Henslee, Fowler, Hepworth and Schwartz, L.L.P. (Ft. Worth and Austin) from 2000-2005. He began his education career in White Settlement ISD as Executive Director of Human Resources & Technology/General Council/Teacher and then moved to the position of Chief of Staff and Legal Counsel for Grand Prairie ISD before assuming the role of Deputy Superintendent of Educational Operations. In 2011 he was selected as Superintendent of Willis ISD (approximately 6500 students, near Houston).

The Board of Trustees was unanimous in their decision to consider Bret Jimerson as the next Superintendent of BISD. Bret, his wife Paige, and their four children,Grace, Abigail, Hannah, and John Davis are excited about the pending move to Burleson as they have family and friends in the metroplex area. Bret graduated from Grand Prairie High School.
