Beverly Volkman Powell has enjoyed a thirty year career in real estate development. Her land development experience includes the creation of residential neighborhoods and commercial projects in Tarrant, Johnson and Hood counties. Recently, she was instrumental in creating a renewed interest in the redevelopment of the historic district of Burleson, where she renovated a number of the 100 year old buildings central to the core historic business center. During the redevelopment, Beverly was successful in recruiting major regional businesses to anchor commercial development in the historic area.
A graduate of Texas Wesleyan University, Beverly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Organizational Development. She is a member of the Texas Wesleyan Board of Trustees, where she is the vice chairman of the board and serves as chairman of the Personnel Committee and member of the Executive and Finance and Audit Committees of the board. She was awarded the Wesleyan Alumni Medal of Honor for service to the university in October of 2009. A 1969 graduate of Burleson High School, Beverly was awarded the 2011 J.W. Norwood Distinguished Alumni Award by the Burleson Ex Students Association. She is a determined advocate for education, with the belief that all children can have access to higher education; and that every child, from kindergarten on, should understand that a college degree is attainable.
Beverly and husband Charles Powell have been active in fund raising projects for organizations across Tarrant County, including The American Heart Association, HEB Education Foundation, HEB Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts of America, Make a Wish Foundation, Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce, Making it Happen Education Foundation and the Opportunity Fund of Burleson, Safe City Commission of Tarrant County, Texas Wesleyan University and many other area charitable organizations. They are members of the First United Methodist Church of Burleson, where Beverly participates in various committee activities and is active in the Music Ministry.

Michael Ancy is the General Manager for the southwestern U.S. operations of Water and Power Technologies, a company specializing in water purification for commercial, industrial, and medical applications. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of North Texas in 1979. Ancy has been active in the BISD at all levels since moving to the district ranging from classroom volunteer at the primary level to substitute teaching at Burleson High School.
Ancy and his wife, Roxanne, have five children who have graduated and one who is currently a senior at BHS, giving them the distinction of having at least one child currently enrolled each year in the BISD since 1985. They are members of the St. Matthew Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Burleson and volunteers at the Presbyterian Night Shelter in Fort Worth. He is also a member of the Briaroaks Fire Department.

Shawn Minor is the National Accounts Director for Sprint. Minor received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Tarleton State University. Minor and his wife, Michelle, have lived in Burleson their entire lives and graduated from Burleson High School. They have three children enrolled in the district. When Minor is not working or in board meetings, he likes to golf, snow ski, spend time in the pool with the family and watch his children play sports.

Staci Eisner is the owner of Rosewood Contractors, Inc., a general contracting firm which specializes in custom residential and light commercial building. Eisner is a graduate of Burleson High School. Eisner attended Baylor University where she earned a BBA in Finance and Management. Eisner and her husband, Stephen, have two children currently enrolled in the district. She is an advocate for children and public education.

Scott Atwood is a licensed civil engineer, certified construction manager and owner of Axiom Management & Engineering, Inc. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is married to his wife, Melinda, and has two children, one who has graduated college and another who is currently attending Burleson High School. Scott is an active member of Christ Church Assembly of God in Fort Worth and has served in various leadership roles. Scott enjoys traveling, road trips with his children and longboarding. He believes that each phase of education determines the next phase of education in our children’s lives. He wants all children to succeed in life.

Andy Pickens is Minister of Music at University Baptist Church in Fort Worth. He is a native of Charleston, West Virginia, where he graduated from George Washington High School. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Charleston in 1980. In 1995, Pickens received his Master of Arts in Church Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. He is a former police officer, graduating from the West Virginia State Police Academy and having served with the Charleston Police Department. He and his wife, Cindy, an 8th grade teacher at Hughes Middle School, have lived in Burleson for 16 years, and have one child enrolled in the district. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family and friends.

Pat Worrell is a 1968 graduate of Texas Wesleyan University where she earned a BS in elementary education. In 1973 she earned her master’s in elementary education at Tarleton State University. Pat spent 31 of her 33 year education career in Burleson ISD. She taught in various elementary grades for seventeen years. After earning her Gifted and Talented Endorsement from Texas Woman’s University, she taught TAG for ten years. She finished her mid-management certification and concluded her career as an elementary principal prior to retiring in 2002.
Pat and her husband Bob share four grown children and six grandchildren. The Worrells are active members of First Baptist Church of Crowley where she teaches an adult ladies’ Sunday School class and serves as the Women’s Ministry leader. Pat also serves as vice-president of the Burleson Eumathian Club and membership secretary for the Burleson Historical Society. While serving as principal at Frazier Elementary, Mrs. Worrell helped begin the character initiative in Burleson. As a first term BISD trustee, she is pleased to serve as co-chair of the Burleson Character Council. Teaching and working with educators continues to be an important part of her life. She believes that her 33 year career as an educator equipped her to serve the district, the children and the educators of BISD more effectively.
