BISD Welcomes BHS Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach, Gary McElroy

Prior to joining the athletic staff at BHS as the Offensive Coordinator/Track Coach, McElroy had a wealth of experience in the coaching world. He was the Co-Offensive Coordinator and Track Coach for Keller High School; served as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach for Nocona High School; was the Offensive Coordinator, Track Coach, and College Recruiting Coordinator for Aledo High School; worked as the Co-Offensive Coordinator, Receivers Coach, and Track Coach for Lake Dallas High School; and was the Quarterback, Head Track Coach, and Head Powerlifting Coach at Pottsboro High School. This June, he will be honored as one of the coaches for the 2012 Texas Oil Bowl.

McElroy has been in education for 18 years.  He graduated from Tarleton State University where he was a three year letter winner for the TSU football team.  He received a Bachelor of Science in Education and History with a minor in Exercise and Sports Studies.  McElroy is a member of several professional associations and has been the featured speaker at the Glazier Football Clinic, the Texas Oil Bowl Football Clinic, and the Lone Star Football Clinic.

McElroy and his wife, Stephanie, are proud parents of two sons – Gunner and Gannon.  “We are so proud to be a part of the Elk Family.”
