City, BISD, and Tarrant County Public Health team up to host free H1N1 vaccination clinic
The City of Burleson's emergency management division, the Burleson Independent School District and Tarrant County Public Health will team up to provide free H1N1 vaccinations to the public on Tuesday, February 23, 4-7 p.m., at Hughes Middle School.
The vaccinations will be administered on a first-come, first serve basis. The shots are available to everyone, including the elderly, who did not have access to the vaccine when it was first released. Children must be accompanied by a parent and must be at least 6 months old to receive the vaccine. TCPH officials will have both nasal vaccines and vaccine injections. You are not required to bring any medical records to the vaccination clinic, but will be asked to fill out forms supplied TCPH.
You do not have to be a Burleson resident to take part in the vaccination clinic. TCPH will supply the free vaccines, BISD will provide the location and the City will provide police officers for crowd control and fire fighters to help watch and assess patients after the vaccinations are administered.

Future Centennial students choose mascot
At tonight's School Board meeting, Centennial High School Principal Lance Campbell made it official. Future Centennial High School Students have chosen the Spartans as their mascot and colors to be royal blue, silver and black.
In order for Centennial High School to have traditions that uniquely identifies it, students and staff must begin to develop an atmosphere that represents their values and beliefs. The name, brand and every decision made should communicate and embody all the virtues and traditions students and staff feel are important. It begins with its mascot and colors.

2006 Bond Report - Progress Report
On time and under budget is the great news!
Those words best define BISD efforts to give voters what they promised. From the original approved bond package of $259 million, BISD officials have sold bonds totaling $169 million in order to successfully complete a number of projects promised to our citizens during the November, 2006 election.
