Rigorous course opportunities to expand in BISD
For the past several years, students who participated in Advanced Placement were taught in the same classes as students who were enrolled in college credit courses. A transition is underway to better meet the needs of BISD students who wish to score a three or higher on Advanced Placement examinations.
BHS Fish Camp 2010
Pre-registration for the camp is now open for Burleson High School's Fish Camp 2010 which will be held on Saturday, August 21st from 9AM - 3PM.
BHS Freshmen who attend Fish Camp are afforded an opportunity to participate in a unique form of orientation. The day will begin with an assembly in which "Fish" will experience the many talents of BHS students. "Fish" will then move into small groups where they will venture through a rotation of four activities including school tour, club/organization tour, school safety/self-esteem seminar, and a team-building activity. Lunch is provided. Those students who pre-register by noon on July 29th will also receive a free 2010 Fish Camp T-shirt.
Click the link below for a Fish Camp Registration Form. The form must be returned to Angelia Sifford either in person or by email (asifford@burlesonisd.net) by BHS by Thursday, July 29, in order to receive a free t-shirt. Visiting Burleson High School
The primary responsibility of any school is the safety and security of the students and staff. In keeping with this philosophy, BHS has made some subtle changes to our parking lot in the front of the school. You will notice that there are now 10 spaces directly in front of the main entrance to the school marked "Visitors". The addition of these spaces should make it more convenient for those visiting the school for various reasons to find a place to park close to the entrance. It should also help to reduce the traffic backup in the afternoons due to cars parked along the curb. We are also in the process of placing "No Unattended Vehicles" signs along the curb to help with this issue.
We welcome you to BHS at any time. We just ask that you stop at the Guard Shack on your way in so that they can give you a visitors parking pass for your car dash. This will help our parking monitors maintain accurate records of who is on campus at any time. Please return the pass to the Guard Shack upon your departure.
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation with the parking procedures. We realize that the traffic flow is not optimum, but we are constantly searching for ways to improve.
