On
February 2, 2012, the UIL released
its biennial realignment for
football & basketball. Centennial
was placed in District 8-4A, and
this will mark CHS's entry into full
varsity football competition. The
Homecoming game has not been picked
at this time.

Area Audition Results |

|
|
The
ATSSB Area Auditions were held in
Robinson on Saturday, January 7.
Central Area includes 1A, 2A, & 3A
schools from Fort Worth in the north
to San Antonio in the south and
Houston in the east to San Angelo in
the west. The students auditioning
represented the top students from
their respective All Region Bands.
Centennial had 15 students
auditioning for roughly 40 available
spots, and we had 2 who earned the
honor of being members of the 2012
ATSSB All State Band. They will
participate in the Clinic &
Convention in San Antonio, February
8-11. Our 2012 All State Students
are:

Eric Neeley, 1st chair euphonium

 We're finally in the
"home stretch" to leave for
Florida! This is going to be an
amazing experience for all
participating members of the Spartan
Regiment. Over the course of the
semester, we have raised enough
money to pay $100 towards everyone's
trip.
The final trip base cost is $650 per
person. It's still
not too late to get donations for
yourself. Download and use the
sponsorship letter on the
Disney Info Page. Several
students have paid their entire trip
with sponsorships!
Account balances are
listed in your
Charms trip accounts. Paypal has
been disabled. You will need to make
payments directly via cash or check.

ARE DUE
JANUARY 20.
All students
attending the trip will have a
mandatory rule meeting on
Monday,
January 23, 7:00 PM in
Seminar E. Each student must
have at least one parent/guardian at
the meeting as well to sign Medical
Release Forms as well as the Trip
Behavior Contract. Both forms will
be notarized by notaries in
attendance.
If a parent cannot
attend the meeting, please contact
Mr. Cox (mcox@burlesonisd.net)
so that he may get the forms to you.
Those who have not finished paying
balances may do so at the meeting.
You may also amend your add-on
selections by either adding or
subtracting meal package or souvenir
mug. |

This
year, Regiment members had outstanding success at
ATSSB (1A-3A) All Region Auditions with 37 being
selected to the ATSSB All Region Bands and 2 as
alternates. Of the our 37, a whopping 15 will
participate in ATSSB Area Auditions, January 7, in
Robinson for the right to advance to the All State
Band. We also had our first students participate in
the TMEA (4A/5A) All Region Auditions. 3 auditioned,
and 2 advanced to the 2nd round with 1 being
selected to the 5A All Region Band. Here our our
