Burleson ISD Free and Reduced-Price Meals Applications Now Available

Applications for the 2017-18 school year available online and at Administration Office

 

BURLESON, Texas – (Aug. 1, 2017) – Burleson Independent School District’s (BISD) free and reduced-meal policy applications are now available for the 2017-18 school year. Letters were mailed to households regarding eligibility benefits with instructions on how to submit an application for the benefits.

Parents may submit one application per household, each year. Parents can complete and submit an application online at www.burlesonisd.net by clicking “Free and Reduced Lunch Application” under the Parents/Students tab. Applications are also available at the BISD Administration Office, located at 1160 SW Wilshire Blvd.

The following criteria is used to determine a child’s eligibility for free or reduced-price meals:

  • Household gross income is within the limits described on the Federal Income Eligibility Guidelines.
  • Households receiving benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
  • Children who attend Head Start, Early Head Start, and Even Start.
  • Children under the legal responsibility of a foster care agency or court.
  • Children who meet the definition of homeless, runaway, or migrant.
