October is National Bullying Prevention Month and in talking about bullying, we hope to bring more awareness to how students, staff and community members can play a role in bullying prevention.
Over the last several weeks, students and staff have been learning about Tarrant County Crime Stoppers and the Friends for Life programs. In partnering with these organizations, BISD provides students, staff, parents and community members with a platform to anonymously report information that is criminal, threatening, inappropriate, or potentially harmful on topics that may include: bullying, dating violence, cyberbullying, family violence/abuse, gang activity, sexting, sexual harassment, or suicidal thoughts. Anonymous tips can be submitted through a phone app, at www.469tips.com or by calling Crime Stoppers 817-469-8477. For more information on these programs and BISD’s Safety and Security measures, please visit http://bit.ly/2NNWWYI.
We understand these topics may be sensitive or difficult to discuss. Our intention is to help create awareness with students, parents and our community on how to anonymously submit information.
